Power CB radio operators in the area
Last weekend, there were numerous competitions, both in the CB radio, and the radio amateurs instead. Here are a few things I noticed that I would like to nominate a personal comment at this point. Here's the comment I have is distributed in written form in advance even in some forums, I will now name a few things that I've seen with the various radio activities this weekend. In this case I really want to make clear that this is not a criticism of individuals or groups should. However, no endless adulation. It's just a - I think - careful combination of various events on 27 and 28 MHz.

radio contests - whether on CB radio or the radio amateurs - have at least something in common: they're fun to the town red. A few conditions should, however, already be in place. This would be the one the observance of the conditions of the competition, for and compliance with the provisions of the respective Funkart. Of course, I know
that are not noticeable slight increases in transmission power at little or no competition, because the same radios on different antennas - generate different signals - even the same type.
It is not so therefore, signals with differences of 1-2 S-units - to condemn or criticize, but those who have apparently lost any limit to respectability - in otherwise apparently identical or similar equipment.
Coincidence - or whoever - would have it, I had on Saturday a remarkable experience:
from a very exposed location was a radio friend with a significant field strength of over S-9 in a radius of nearly 300 kilometers ( been!) heard on the 10m band. His SSB signal was strong, but not clean, it was the other side band, the same as on the field strength and a very frightening Nutzsignalseite bandwidth which made clear that well before the radio someone was sitting, not at all interested in the sort of thing. According to the company that used radio transmission power of 750 watts at a Yagi antenna, which in the 10m band is indeed still completely within the allowed limits.
The same radio friend - the same name the same location - was a little later in the 27 MHz range - that is, the CB radio - listen to the same field strength and with the absolutely identical (or not) of excellence as the first in the 10m band.
us not fool ourselves: Each of us - whether amateur radio or CB radio operator - was ever tried, the power to separate signal improvement adapt. I myself also, and occasionally still do it! But who - to his own advantage - and that by an unclean signal to the detriment of all others, increased by almost 28db, which must be understanding of amateur radio, but once again reconsider thoroughly!
is today grumble hardly anyone, if a man / woman on CB radio with the normal performance of an amateur radio transceiver transmits (ie up to 100 watts) which corresponds to the rest already about 19dB power gain compared to a CB radio.
Most sure, though then at least that the signal used her on the bandwidth and the modulation quality, a standard Radio signal corresponds. For me, it is also important - but maybe I'm just too old here - that my modulation quality is the business card of my station. Clearly, this is not for the numerous power radio operator.
Now my thoughts that I bring to term, may perhaps no longer reflect the general view, but after I actually even more convinced QRP radio operator, I have a pretty bad conscience when I'm with 5 watts in CB Funk'm on the road. Such feelings seem today to have no more power radio operator, or is simply indifferent to them, if sustained with up to 100 kHz wide signals other radio friends at the exercise of the radio hobby be disturbed. When
AM DCBO Contest on Saturday were apparently many radio friends - at least in North Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden area - the majority probably go with the authorized power. Here in the Frankish environment was no one to listen to AM, who had only suspected as higher performance.
However - and this is unfortunately a risk - be in the SSB portion of the contest and perhaps the RAD to bring the power of radio sites exposed their lack of consideration for print and perfecting it to the desired style funds.
I hope my guess turns out to be not as revelation, as it would the fairness at a contest in question or even from such contests absurdum.
